IT - Field Services Consultant

E.S. Williams and Associates is an IT consulting company which focuses on building strong relationships with clients and co-workers. The Field Services Consultant role will be ideal for one who enjoys a consultative approach to customer service, as well as travel and field work. This role will support our Oil and Gas Clients, and involves consultation, implementation, and support services for clients' needs.
Responsibilities
- On-site response

Able to travel to remote areas to perform support

Requirement to stay overnight at camp and/or hotels

Occasional emergency response required

Implementation, support, troubleshooting and maintenance

Hardware - PC’s, monitors, servers, hubs, routers, printers, etc.

Software - off the shelf, process control and industry specific

Telephone/fax/data communications support

This role can be physically demanding in regard to the carrying, setting up and servicing of hardware in a variety of office environments

Coordinate

Field support for users over a large geographical area, ensuring service level agreements (SLA’s) are met, including help desk ticket resolution

Professional Development

Utilize information from web-based resources, colleagues, training courses or conferences, and computer-related publications to assess new products and developments in the IT industry

Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a computer related discipline such as a Computer Engineering Technology diploma and at least 2 years’ experience in a technical support role OR an appropriate combination of education and experience
- A+, MCSE, or MCITP certification is desirable
- H2S Alive, standard first aid, and WHMIS certifications will be required for this role
- Driver’s license with good driver abstract, as well as criminal background and other assessments are conditions of employment. A fleet vehicle is provided for this role
- Client focused with excellent client services skills
- Excellent verbal and written English skills
- Technical support experience in the field, preferably within the oil & gas industry
- Work well as part of a team as well as independently
- Work efficiently under pressure and remain calm in stressful circumstances
- Good organizational and prioritizing skills
- High ethical standards and trustworthy
- The ability to think logically and analyze complex problems
