Primary Focus
The IT Consultant role will be ideal for one who enjoys a consultative approach to solving problems with a focus on providing great customer experience. A background in implementation, desktop, network, and server technologies and support is a must. This role involves consultation, implementation, and support services for clients' needs relevant to server and network solutions, with a focus on Microsoft based environments.
Location
- This position is based in our Calgary office.
Scope
- Consultants will receive exposure in the following areas:
- Setup/configure/deploy/troubleshoot desktops, servers, networks (on site and in the cloud)
- Consultation with clients on how IT solutions can support their business
- How to identify improvement areas within our customer's' business
- How to present these improvements to the customer
- Work with new technologies (SharePoint, Lync, Hyper-V, Office 365)
- Solving complex problems
Contacts
- Consultants will come into contact with customers from all industries, these contacts can include:
- Administration staff / middle management
- Executive management
- Physicians, allied health professionals
- Other consultants with different skillsets
- Other technology vendors
Working Conditions
- This role requires good time management skills and an ability to work with minimal supervision
- On-Site Reponse: Consultants will spend much of their time onsite working with clients, when not at a clients site will be working out of the ESW Calgary office.
- Professional Development is available for all team members - information from online resources, colleagues, training courses, certification training and conferences.
- This role can be physically demanding at times in regards to carrying, setting up and servicing of hardware weighing up to 50 lbs. in a variety of office environments.
- Additional duties as required to support the business or team
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 3yrs or more experience in a technical support role is preferred.
- Post secondary Education in a computer related discipline such as Computer Engineering Technology Diploma is a must
- Microsoft MCITP certification is preferable
- Alternatively, an appropriate combination of education and experience may be considered
